Stacie.
Stacie is a breastfeeding, cloth-diapering quasi-AP mother of twins. She spends most of her time wondering why No Cry Sleep Solution claims that babies spend 4 hours a day napping. Who are these babies? In an earlier life she was an English and Latin teacher who managed to get her certification to teach public school the same summer the twins were born. Timing is everything. Now she is staying home until the twins are in school. You can read her personal blog, The Twinkies.
Casey.
Casey is a Chinese American woman, mother and wife living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a New Yorker at heart, coming to the Bay from Chicago, western Massachusetts; subsubsuburban Connecticut, and rural western Virginia. She is politically and socially liberal, fond of diet Pepsi, not owning a car, and the joys of public transportation. She is the mama to Matthew, a rambunctious, marching toddler, whose main goal is to conquer the Earth and all of its riches. Casey balances a career, motherhood, marriage, and her personal life on a fine line made up of Jamba Juice and Weight Watchers points. Read more about her at her personal website, caseycasey.net.
Michele.
Michele is mom to Damien, wife to Michael & keeper of THE CATS. In her former life she was a literature major who worked as an administrative assistant. Now she is a SAHM, trying to redefine what it means to be a homemaker. Can Mrs. Cleaver really have an electric blue mohawk? Michele likes to think you CAN blend the traditional with the profane & tries to live that every day.
Alice.
Alice is an enigma, a mystery surrounded in puff pastry and a tasty sauce. She is the mother of twin sons, the caretaker of two cats, a formerly avid gardener yet still the occasional poet. She is a grad school dropout, an amateur baker, and in her dreams is a violin wielding siren who can make choux paste into creampuffs in no time flat.
Alice lives in Denver by way of Spokane, but spent her childhood in Montana romping on farm equipment and somehow not managing to damage her delicate self on a combine. Subverting such early bucolic pleasures for the joy of housebound introversion, she comes to you through electronic means with no wisdom save that which she has scraped up through countless mistakes and a mostly open heart.
Amy.
Amy was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico and has visited every town - even the really small ones - in the state of New Mexico at least once. She now lives in Albuquerque, which is a much more interesting place than Santa Fe, despite what you’ve seen in the movies. She has been married to her college sweetheart, Eric, for about 8 times as long as most Hollywood star marriages last and she is mom to a beautiful and very headstrong little boy, Kenneth, who was born on Harry Potter’s birthday in 2006.
Amy graduated from a tiny college in Eastern New Mexico (an area where the cow population outnumbers the human population) with a degree in communications in 1998. When asked what she does for a living, she replies “I change jobs every three years.” She has spent most of her career working in marketing and communications while trying to decide which of her childhood career aspirations to pursue (astronaut is probably out, but archaeologist and teacher are still on the table).
Amy’s goals are to perfect her beef stroganoff recipe, to figure out what keeps happening to Kenneth’s socks in the wash, to spend less money at Gymboree and Oompa Toys, and to decide what she wants to do with her life now that she is a grown-up. Her favorite things are her husband and son, mafia movies, the ladies who clean her house twice a month, television medical dramas, Death Cab for Cutie, Keen sandals, sleeping in, and her iPod.
Anne.
Anne is a bona fide superhero, cleverly concealing her identity by living and working quietly in the Midwest. Not even her husband and son are fully aware of her alter ego, a spandex-clad, fuchsia-haired defender of goodness and truth. When she is not fighting evil with her super secret powers, Anne enjoys typical worldly pursuits such as reading, cooking, and music. Above all else, she enjoys spending time with her family.
